Devil’s Gorge, 2013
Two-screen video installation
Films, color, sound, 10’12’’ / 4’18’’ loop
100 sculptures (felt, plastic plants, taxidermied animals, wax) fluorescent light

Filmed at Iguazu Falls, a double video evokes the wild and terrifying dimensions of this natural site, and points to the artist’s obsessions: the passage of time (and its inversion, the water falls being shown here in an ascending movement, like traveling back in time), escape and erasing memorial and material traces. Between the two projections, a platform exhibits seemingly petrified organic elements like so much flotsam.
